Crunor

📜

Crunor is the Tibian god of nature, trees, plants and fertility.

PERSONALITY AND GODHOOD

Crunor is described as creative and being full of charm and vitality. He loves his own shape, but he is wiser than Fafnar and possesses the gift of modesty. Inspired by the creation, Crunor bore from himself all the plants, small and large, after his own image. Thus, Crunor is revered as the god of nature. For this reason, he is also called the Lord of The Trees and the Great Tree.Other names include the Godly World Tree, the treething (derogatory, by Elathriel), Father of Trees, the Treefather, creator of all plants, the Great Tree, the Eternal Tree and the Bringer of Life. He is considered to be a good and benevolent god.

THE CREATION

= When asked, Crunor agreed to help his cousin Nornur, the god of fate, get a firm body of his own. Although they ultimately failed, Crunor suggested to Nornur that he should create some living beings so that Nornur could manifest himself in his servants. This is how the spiders were created. When Zathroth and his minions started attacking Tibia with new evil races, the lesser gods stood up to defend their creations. Crunor created the wolves in order to protect his forests against the orcs. However, the orcs proved too strong and were too numerous. The wolves fled into the depths of the forests. Only here in the deepest forests and in wild herds the wolves learned to defeat their bipedal opponents. When the age of the wars of the unliving began, the battles were furious and bloody, and for a long time no side was apparently winning. Some humans then turned to Crunor, in order to serve from then on as druids. It is said that together with Crunor, they created many of the creatures that populate the wilderness today. However, a variety of these creatures were extinguished in the wars of that time.

ELVES

= Historically, like other Tibian gods, Crunor is worshipped by the elves. At one point of time, most elves lost their faith in the "human" gods. Some elves still worship Crunor, however, and will react positively when he is brought up.For example, Maealil and Llathriel. Crunor, whom the elves call the Treefather, is the only god of the "human" gods who is still being worshipped by some elves; all other gods elves worship are specific to elven society.According to Religion in Elven Society. Some elves worship the raw elemental forces instead. Especially in the Kuridai caste the earth cult is more prominent than Crunor. Moreover, other elves worship the celestial paladin Nera, the lady of spring, who completely replaces Crunor for some elves.
