Then one day, while playing inthe mud on the edge of the swamp, he caught a glimpse of somethingthat seemed quite out of place-a red something, just over the top of the nearest hill. Hegathered his fish and went to investigate, and there, to hisgreat surprise, he discovered abeautiful house, with a bright redroof, and complete with a spry young man splitting wood on the front lawn. This is what I am missing! He thought, and walkedslowly up to the man (as it is notwise to run up to a man carrying anaxe, especially if you're alreadya swamp troll.)But the man did not appear alarmed,and invited Forfer into his beautiful red-roofed house for somecookies. Forfer happily obliged,and they struck up a conversationabout houses and fish.
