Chyllfroest

QUICK FACTS

City
Svargrond

Chyllfroest is a hunting spot in Tibia. Near Svargrond. Creature list, access requirements, and hunting strategy below.

Chyllfroest is an isle west of Svargrond only accessible between April 1 and May 1. It has a few dungeons designed for different level ranges. Deep inside Chyllfroest you may find a Half-Frozen Ursagrodon, which can be thawed and subsequently tamed by successfully using a Melting Horn on it three times. To get there, go to the Frost Troll cave en route to the Formorgar Mines shortcut. Instead of going down and following the shortcut, go west toward the Quara scout cave. The "bridge" is located . OPPORTUNITIES

The main reason most people will go to Chyllfroest is for the local mount, the Ursagrodon. In order to tame the Ursagrodon you need a Melting Horn; to get it, hunt Chakoyas for a Fireproof Horn and use the Tinder Box you find on top of the Chyllfroest Mountain on it. The Ursagrodon appears not as a monster but as a frozen skeleton in a wall of ice. Several Ursagrodons exist on several floors, but the easiest spawns are on the east side of the first floor underground. Use the Melting Horn three times on the Frozen Ursagrodon to thaw and tame it. The chances to succeed seem to be very low, and if you fail your Melting Horn will break. Therefore, many players choose to bring alternative characters to obtain the quest-only Tinder Box. The Tinder Box can be reobtained after waiting 20 hours. As for hunting opportunities, there are four main areas you can hunt: Chakoyas (Chakoya cave) Frost Dragons (mountain descent) Hellhounds, Demons, etc. (mountain descent - fifth floor) Brimstone Bugs, and others (eastern dungeon) There are other areas but none of them are big enough to really hunt at.

SURFACE

The first things you will see upon reaching Chyllfroest are the familiar Chakoya Igloos. You can enter the Igloos, and each will lead to a small Chakoya dungeon with mostly Chakoyas of all kinds.

CHAKOYA DUNGEON

Not really worth hunting here, because well, Chakoyas just aren't. But if you want to tame the Ursagrodon you may want to hunt them for Fireproof Horns, which you can then use on the Tinder you can find on top of the mountain to obtain the Melting Horn needed in order to tame one. At the south-west part of the cave there is a wrecked ship. Just by the ship is a Pirate Skeleton and an unreachable Pirate Ghost. This may have an important backstory, but nothing is known about it. MOUNTAIN

Besides the Chakoya dungeon there is also the Chyllfroest Mountain. This mountain contains various hunting grounds for a few level ranges. In particular, floor -4 and -5 contain a lot of mid-level creatures; floor -2 contains a very high level cave; floor +1 to -1 contains a ton of Frost Dragons. The Ursagrodon is also in this mountain. On the 1st floor underground on the east side, the ursagrodon is frozen in the ice and must be thawed out (the ursagrodon does not actually exist as a creature). Keep in mind that you can walk around the perimeter south-east of the mountain. Thus, you do not need to pass the frost dragons to reach the ursagrodon. Eastern Dungeon: The eastern dungeon starts out in the Ursagrodon area. Below there is a mid-level hunting ground with Giant Spiders, Stampors, Lancer Beetles, Wailing Widows, Brimstone Bugs, and Killer Caimans. File:Chyllfroest Ursagrodon.png A Frozen Ursagrodon. Western Mountain and Cave: Mountain Ascension: File:Chyllfroest Mountain Sign.png File:Chyllfroest Tinderbox Levitate.png First Floor (+1): Frost Dragon Hatchling is unreachable. This floor also has a diggable hole leading to the Frost Dragons. Second Floor (+2): Third Floor (+3): No creatures here. There is a ramp that will take you to the upper floor of the Frost Dragon cave. Fourth Floor (+4): It only spawns very rarely. Fifth Floor (+5): No creatures here. Levitate on the east side to reach floor 6. Sixth Floor (+6): No creatures here Find a Tinderbox in the Pile of Bones. Mountain Descent: First Floor (+2): Second Floor (+1): Third Floor (+0): Western cave. For eastern cave, see Eastern Cave. Fourth Floor (-1): Fifth Floor (-2, South): Arrive here by going down the southern ramp on the fourth floor. Fifth Floor (-2, West): Arrive here by going down the western ramp on the fourth floor. This cave is massive. There are a lot of Hellhounds and Demons and it is not uncommon to find them in groups.
