Monk Vocation Guide
All 43 spells, equipment, hunting spots, and builds. Full guide with strategies, tips, and community data.
The harmony system was as the primary system that makes the Monk stand out against the other vocations via a builder/spender play style. The Monk builds harmony by using Builder Spells, storing up to five harmony at a time. A second group of spells, called Spenders, consumes all available harmony on use to heavily boost their power. Whenever a harmony point is gained or spent, the lowest % HP member of the Monk's party is healed (healing themselves if solo). See Virtue Healing for more details. From a gameplay perspective, the Monk will always be able to make a small decision on how to use their harmony. It can be used for a powerful area heal, to punish a single target, or to damage a large group of enemies. The harmony system also discourages the use of runes, because using a rune does not generate any harmony. The base bonus of harmony is 7%. This bonus is doubled with each additional harmony point, reaching a maximum of 112% if a spender spell is used when the Monk has built up all five harmony points. The base bonus can be increased by various means: Virtue of Harmony: +3%, or +6% if the Monk is Serene Ascetic: +1% / +2% / +3% depending on the stage "wikitable" style="text-align: center;" ! rowspan="2" Harmony points used ! colspan="3" Harmony bonus !
