ABOUT THE QUEST

The Cults of Tibia Quest was introduced in update 11.40 and tasks you with investigating and destroying seven secretive cults that have taken root across the world of Tibia. Each cult has corrupted a different location, from the troll caves beneath Ab'Dendriel to the ancient Dark Pyramid, and each must be dealt with individually before the source of the corruption can be confronted.

The quest begins by speaking with NPC Gerimor in Feyrist. You must have completed the Threatened Dreams Quest to access Feyrist in the first place. Gerimor will explain that dark cults are spreading corruption throughout Tibia and ask you to help eliminate them.

Beyond the generous 325,000 experience reward and the prestigious Corruption Contained achievement, the Cults of Tibia Quest is strategically important because it unlocks access to several cult-themed hunting areas. These areas contain unique cult creatures that drop decent loot and provide strong experience rates, making them popular destinations for players in the level 150 to 300 range.

The seven cult missions can be completed in any order, but all seven cult bosses must be defeated before you can challenge The Source of Corruption in the final encounter.

Disintegrate Runes are sold by magic shop NPCs and are essential for clearing blocked passages in the Dark Pyramid during the Sandy Cave mission.

STARTING THE QUEST

1

Travel to Feyrist

Feyrist
You must have completed the Threatened Dreams Quest to access Feyrist. Once you have Feyrist access, travel there and find NPC Gerimor.
Gerimor— say "help"
Speak to Gerimor and ask about “help”. He will explain that dark cults have been spreading corruption throughout Tibia and that each one must be investigated and destroyed. Ask him about each individual cult to receive the mission for that cult. You can ask about all seven cults immediately and tackle them in any order.
2

Ask About All Cults

Feyrist
After Gerimor explains the situation, ask him about each cult by name: Barkless, Misguided, Patron of the Arts, The Orc Idol, The Secret of the Sandy Cave, The Strengthening of the Minotaurs, and Zathroth Remnants. Each question activates that cult's mission in your quest log.

💡 TIP

You can activate all seven missions at once by asking Gerimor about each cult, then travel to complete them in whatever order is most convenient geographically. This saves significant travel time compared to returning to Feyrist between each mission.

STEP-BY-STEP WALKTHROUGH — ALL 7 CULT MISSIONS

CULT 1: THE BARKLESS

3

Travel to Ab'Dendriel Troll Cave

Ab'Dendriel
The Barkless cult is located in the troll cave beneath Ab'Dendriel. Travel to Ab'Dendriel and head to the troll cave entrance. The cult area is deeper inside the cave system, past the regular troll spawns.
4

Complete the Tar Trial

Barkless Cave
The first trial of the Barkless involves navigating through tar. Walk through the tar until you receive 4 messages indicating your progress. After the fourth message, step on the special tile and then run to the sealed door tile before the tar cools down. The timing is tight — you must move quickly after stepping on the special tile or you will need to restart the trial.

DANGER

The tar trial is on a timer. Once you step on the special tile after receiving all 4 messages, you have a limited window to reach the sealed door. If the tar cools before you reach the door, you must start the entire trial over. Practice your route before committing to the run.
5

Complete the Sulphur Trial

Barkless Cave
The second trial follows a similar pattern to the Tar Trial but uses sulphur instead. Walk through the sulphur area until you receive the progression messages, step on the special tile, and run to the sealed door before the sulphur resets. The mechanics are identical to the Tar Trial.
6

Purification

Barkless Cave
After completing both the Tar and Sulphur trials, you must purify yourself by washing in the cold water cave. Find the cave with cold water and interact with it to cleanse the corruption from the trials. This completes the exploration portion of the Barkless mission.

💡 TIP

The Tar and Sulphur trials share identical mechanics. If you master one, you can complete the other without difficulty. The key is movement speed — have your path planned before stepping on the special tile.
7

Defeat the Ravenous Hunger

Barkless Boss Room
The Barkless boss is the Ravenous Hunger. This is a team fight requiring exactly 5 players. The boss has a 20-hour cooldown timer after each kill. Coordinate with your team and ensure everyone is prepared before entering the boss room.

DANGER

The Ravenous Hunger requires a team of 5 players. You cannot enter the boss room with fewer or more players. The 20-hour cooldown means failed attempts are costly in terms of time. Make sure your entire team is properly supplied and knows the fight mechanics before engaging.

Creatures in this area: Barkless Devotee, Barkless Fanatic

CULT 2: THE MISGUIDED

8

Travel to Outlaw Camp

Outlaw Camp
The Misguided cult has taken root at the Outlaw Camp, located north of Thais between Thais and Carlin. Travel to the Outlaw Camp and look for the entrance to the cult area within the camp.
9

Navigate the Misguided Area

Outlaw Camp
The Misguided area contains Misguided Bullies and Misguided Thieves. These creatures can hit reasonably hard for their level range, so stay alert. Navigate through the area following the quest markers to reach the boss chamber.
10

Defeat The Souldespoiler

Misguided Boss Room
The boss of the Misguided cult is The Souldespoiler. This is a more straightforward boss fight compared to the Barkless. The Souldespoiler uses strong magical attacks, so come prepared with magic level protection and strong healing.

DANGER

The Souldespoiler deals significant magical damage. Mages should wear magic defense equipment and Knights should be prepared to absorb heavy hits. Keep a Druid healer focused on the blocker at all times during this fight.

Creatures in this area: Misguided Bully, Misguided Thief

CULT 3: PATRON OF THE ARTS

11

Investigate the Goldhanded Cultists

Cult Area
The Patron of the Arts cult is unique among the seven because it does not have a boss fight. Instead, you must investigate the Goldhanded Cultists and their animated creations. Navigate through the area and complete the objectives Gerimor assigned.
12

Deal with the Animated Creatures

Cult Area
The Patron of the Arts cult has animated various creatures using dark magic. You will encounter animated versions of familiar creatures throughout the area:
  • -- Animated Clomp
  • -- Animated Cyclops
  • -- Animated Guzzlemaw
  • -- Animated Mummy
  • -- Animated Ogre Brute
  • -- Animated Ogre Savage
  • -- Animated Rotworm

💡 TIP

This is the easiest of the seven cult missions since there is no boss fight. The animated creatures are generally manageable for players at the recommended level. Use this mission as a warm-up if you are unsure about your gear or supplies.
13

Complete the Investigation

Cult Area
Clear through the area and complete all investigation objectives. Once finished, report back to Gerimor in Feyrist to mark this cult as dealt with.

Creatures in this area: Goldhanded Cultist, Goldhanded Cultist Bride, Animated Clomp, Animated Cyclops, Animated Guzzlemaw, Animated Mummy, Animated Ogre Brute, Animated Ogre Savage, Animated Rotworm

CULT 4: THE ORC IDOL

14

Travel to Edron Orc Cave

Edron Orc Cave / Mintwallin
The Orc Idol cult operates from the Edron Orc Cave and extends into Mintwallin. Travel to Edron and enter the Orc Cave system. The cult creatures are found in the deeper sections of the cave where the corruption has taken hold.
15

Fight Through the Orc Cult

Edron Orc Cave
The Orc Cult area is populated with corrupted orc variants that are significantly stronger than regular orcs. Navigate through the area while fighting:

DANGER

Orc Cult Priests will heal other orc cult creatures. Prioritize killing the Priests first in every pull, or the fights will drag on and you will burn through supplies unnecessarily. Orc Cult Fanatics deal strong melee damage — do not let multiple Fanatics reach your mages or paladins.
16

Defeat The Unarmored Voidborn

Orc Idol Boss Room
The boss of the Orc Idol cult is The Unarmored Voidborn. This boss deals heavy physical and energy damage. Have your Knight blocker maintain aggro while ranged damage dealers focus fire from a safe distance.

💡 TIP

The Orc Cult area is also a solid hunting ground for players in the level 150 to 250 range after completing the quest. The density of creatures and the experience rates make it worth revisiting for regular hunts.

Creatures in this area: Orc Cult Minion, Orc Cultist, Orc Cult Inquisitor, Orc Cult Priest, Orc Cult Fanatic

CULT 5: THE SECRET OF THE SANDY CAVE

17

Travel to the Dark Pyramid

Dark Pyramid
The Sandy Cave cult is located at the Dark Pyramid, found in the desert region. Travel to the Dark Pyramid and enter the underground area. You will need Disintegrate Runes to clear certain blocked passages within.
18

Use Disintegrate Runes on Blocked Passages

Dark Pyramid
Several passages in the Dark Pyramid are blocked by magical barriers that can only be removed with Disintegrate Runes. Use the runes on each barrier as you encounter them. Bring at least 10 Disintegrate Runes to be safe — some barriers require multiple uses.

DANGER

The Dark Pyramid contains Giant Spiders, Bonebeasts, and Putrid Mummies. Giant Spiders can poison and paralyze, which is especially dangerous in tight corridors. Bring antidotes or cure poison spells and be ready to heal through unexpected paralysis.
19

Navigate to the Sandy Cave

Dark Pyramid Interior
After clearing the magical barriers, navigate deeper into the pyramid to reach the Sandy Cave itself. Follow the path through the underground tunnels, fighting through the creatures as you go.
20

Defeat The Sandking

Sandy Cave Boss Room
The boss of the Sandy Cave cult is The Sandking. This boss is found in the deepest chamber of the cave. The Sandking uses earth-based attacks and can summon additional creatures during the fight. Focus damage on the boss and clear any summons quickly.

💡 TIP

Equip earth protection when fighting The Sandking. Its primary damage type is earth, so reducing earth damage taken will significantly improve your survivability. A Garlic Necklace or Terra Amulet works well here.

Creatures in this area: Giant Spider, Bonebeast, Putrid Mummy

CULT 6: THE STRENGTHENING OF THE MINOTAURS

21

Travel to Mintwallin

Mintwallin
The Minotaur cult is located in Mintwallin, the underground minotaur city accessible from several surface locations. Travel to Mintwallin and look for the cult-corrupted area within the city. The corrupted minotaurs are noticeably different from the regular minotaur population.
22

Fight Through the Minotaur Cult

Mintwallin
The corrupted minotaurs are significantly stronger than their regular counterparts. Navigate through the cult area while fighting:

DANGER

Minotaur Cult Prophets are the priority target in every engagement. They can heal and buff other cult minotaurs, significantly extending fights. If you let multiple Prophets remain alive while fighting Zealots and Followers, you will run through supplies at an alarming rate.
23

Defeat The False God

Minotaur Cult Boss Room
The boss of the Minotaur cult is The False God. This imposing boss uses a mix of physical and magical attacks. The False God can heal itself during the fight, so sustained damage output is critical. Coordinate your team to maintain pressure throughout the encounter.

💡 TIP

The Minotaur cult area in Mintwallin is another excellent post-quest hunting spot. The creature density is high and the respawn is fast, making it a popular choice for players looking for steady experience in the level 150 to 250 range.

Creatures in this area: Minotaur Cult Follower, Minotaur Cult Zealot, Minotaur Cult Prophet

CULT 7: THE ZATHROTH REMNANTS

24

Acquire Key 3520

Thais / Carlin
Before heading into the Zathroth Remnants area, you must have Key 3520 in your inventory. This key is required to access the cult's inner sanctum. Without it, you will be unable to progress past the locked doors in the dungeon.
25

Enter the Zathroth Remnants Area

Thais / Carlin
The Zathroth Remnants operate in areas accessible from both Thais and Carlin. The primary entrance involves descending through underground passages. Use Key 3520 on the locked door to gain access to the cult area proper.
26

Fight Through the Zathroth Cult

Zathroth Cult Area
The Zathroth Remnants area contains some of the most dangerous creatures in the entire quest line. You will face:

DANGER

The Zathroth Remnants area is the most dangerous of all seven cult missions. Renegade Knights hit extremely hard in melee and Cult Scholars deal devastating area-of-effect magical damage. Do NOT pull large groups — fight carefully and methodically. Having a dedicated Knight blocker and a Druid healer is strongly recommended.
27

Defeat the Essence of Malice

Zathroth Boss Room
The boss of the Zathroth Remnants is the Essence of Malice. This is one of the harder cult bosses. The Essence of Malice uses death and energy damage combined with area attacks that can rapidly drain HP. Maintain defensive positions and focus fire on the boss while the blocker absorbs damage.

💡 TIP

Equip death and energy protection for the Essence of Malice fight. The boss alternates between these two damage types, so balanced protection is more effective than stacking resistance to a single element. An energy ring combined with death protection equipment provides good coverage.

Creatures in this area: Cult Believer, Cult Enforcer, Cult Scholar, Vicious Squire, Renegade Knight

FINAL BOSS: THE SOURCE OF CORRUPTION

CRITICAL WARNING

You MUST have defeated ALL 7 cult bosses before attempting The Source of Corruption. If any cult mission is incomplete, you will not be able to enter the final boss room. Verify all 7 missions are marked as complete in your quest log before assembling your team.
28

Report All Cult Defeats to Gerimor

Feyrist
After defeating all seven cult bosses, return to Gerimor in Feyrist and report your progress. He will confirm that all cults have been dealt with and direct you to the final confrontation — The Source of Corruption itself.
29

Assemble Your Team

Feyrist
The Source of Corruption allows up to 10 players to participate in the fight. Assemble a strong team with proper vocation balance:
  • -- 2-3 Elite Knights — Blockers to absorb damage and maintain aggro
  • -- 2-3 Elder Druids — Primary healers using Exura Sio on blockers
  • -- 2-3 Master Sorcerers — Ranged damage dealers with area spells
  • -- 1-2 Royal Paladins — Ranged damage and secondary healing
30

Enter the Final Boss Room

Source of Corruption Chamber
Enter the boss room with your team. The Source of Corruption is an extremely powerful entity that represents the combined corruption of all seven cults. It uses a variety of attacks from all damage types and can summon cult creatures during the fight.

DANGER

The Source of Corruption has a 20-hour cooldown timer. A failed attempt means waiting nearly a full day before you can try again. Take the time to properly prepare your team. Ensure everyone has full supplies, knows their role, and has voice communication active. This is not a fight you want to wing.
31

Defeat The Source of Corruption

Boss Room
During the fight, focus all damage on The Source of Corruption while handling any summoned creatures. The Knights must maintain aggro and position the boss away from the ranged damage dealers. Druids should focus exclusively on healing the blockers with Exura Sio. Sorcerers and Paladins should deal maximum damage while staying at safe range.

💡 TIP

Team Strategy: Assign specific roles before entering. Designate a main blocker, a backup blocker, primary and secondary healers, and damage dealers. If summons appear, have one Knight pick them up while the rest of the team stays focused on the boss. Splitting damage between the boss and summons is a common mistake that leads to wipes.
32

After defeating The Source of Corruption, return to Gerimor in Feyrist to receive your final rewards: 325,000 experience, the Corruption Contained achievement, a Mystery Box, and your vocation-specific crown.

RECOMMENDED MISSION ORDER

While you can tackle the seven cult missions in any order, this sequence minimizes backtracking and groups geographically close missions together:

  1. 1. Patron of the Arts — Easiest mission with no boss fight. Good warm-up to familiarize yourself with the quest format.
  2. 2. The Misguided (Outlaw Camp) — Relatively straightforward boss fight against The Souldespoiler.
  3. 3. The Barkless (Ab'Dendriel) — The trials require practice but are not combat-heavy. Save the boss for when you have a team of 5.
  4. 4. The Orc Idol (Edron/Mintwallin) — Good creature density and a manageable boss fight.
  5. 5. The Strengthening of the Minotaurs (Mintwallin) — Can be combined with The Orc Idol since both involve Mintwallin.
  6. 6. The Secret of the Sandy Cave (Dark Pyramid) — Requires Disintegrate Runes. The Sandking is a moderate boss challenge.
  7. 7. Zathroth Remnants (Thais/Carlin) — The hardest cult mission. Save this for last when you are well-practiced with the quest mechanics.

💡 TIP

Combine missions 4 and 5 into a single trip since both involve areas in or near Mintwallin. This saves significant travel time. Similarly, if you are based in Thais, you can do the Zathroth Remnants mission before or after visiting the Outlaw Camp for the Misguided mission.

HUNTING SPOTS UNLOCKED BY THIS QUEST

One of the main reasons to complete the Cults of Tibia Quest is the hunting spots it unlocks. These cult areas provide excellent experience and loot for mid-to-high level players. Here are the most popular post-quest hunting areas:

AREALEVEL RANGEBEST FOR
Orc Cult Area150 - 250Knights and Paladins — good creature density, solid loot
Minotaur Cult Area150 - 250All vocations — fast respawn, strong exp/hr
Zathroth Remnants Area200 - 350High-level players — best loot of all cult areas, highest exp
Barkless Area150 - 200Solo players — manageable difficulty, decent exp
Misguided Area130 - 200Lower-level players — entry-level cult hunting

💡 TIP

The Zathroth Remnants area is widely considered the best hunting spot unlocked by this quest. Renegade Knights and Cult Scholars drop valuable loot and provide excellent experience. However, it requires level 200+ with good equipment to hunt safely. For players in the 150 to 200 range, the Orc Cult and Minotaur Cult areas offer a better balance of difficulty and reward.

PRO TIPS

  • 1. Activate all 7 missions at once. Speak to Gerimor about every cult before leaving Feyrist. This lets you complete missions in whatever geographic order is most efficient without returning to Feyrist between each one.
  • 2. Combine the Orc Idol and Minotaur missions. Both missions involve Mintwallin. Do them in a single trip to save travel time and supplies.
  • 3. Start with Patron of the Arts. This is the only mission without a boss fight, making it the easiest entry point. Get it out of the way first.
  • 4. Save Zathroth Remnants for last. This is the hardest cult mission with the most dangerous creatures. By the time you reach it, you will have experience with the quest mechanics from the easier missions.
  • 5. The Barkless boss needs exactly 5 players. No more, no fewer. Coordinate your team in advance and make sure all 5 members have completed the Tar and Sulphur trials before attempting the Ravenous Hunger.
  • 6. Kill healers and casters first. In the Orc Cult and Minotaur Cult areas, Orc Cult Priests and Minotaur Cult Prophets heal and buff other creatures. Prioritize them in every engagement.
  • 7. Bring element-specific protection for each boss. The Sandking uses earth, the Essence of Malice uses death and energy, and The Source of Corruption uses mixed damage. Swap your protection gear between boss fights.
  • 8. Use the cult areas for hunting after completion. These areas offer some of the best experience rates for mid-level players. The quest investment pays for itself through regular hunting sessions in these zones.
  • 9. The final boss allows up to 10 players. Fill your team. There is no benefit to attempting The Source of Corruption with fewer players. The 20-hour cooldown makes failed attempts costly.
  • 10. Voice communication is essential for boss fights. Coordinate healer rotations, summon management, and blocker swaps in real time. Text chat is too slow for the cult boss encounters.
