About the Hot Cuisine Quest

The Hot Cuisine Quest (also known as the Cook Quest or Jean Pierre Quest) is one of Tibia's most unique quest lines. Instead of fighting bosses, you become a culinary apprentice to Jean Pierre, a male Djinn cook who appears west of the Blue Djinn Fortress near Ankrahmun only during August each year.

Each of the 15 dishes you cook has a unique effect -- from a full HP heal (Rotworm Stew) to +5 Magic Level for one hour (Tropical Fried Terrorbird) to +10 Shielding (Roasted Dragon Wings). Several dishes are among the most powerful consumables in the game and remain relevant at all levels.

If you arrived here searching for "kitchen knife tibia," note that the Kitchen Knife is a separate tool item used for decorating cakes -- it is not used in the Hot Cuisine Quest. Jean Pierre only requires you to bring raw ingredients directly. No tools besides a Scythe (for Flour) and a Juice Squeezer (for Coconut Milk) are needed.

Jean Pierre is located west of the Blue Djinn Fortress (Ashta'daramai), in the desert near Ankrahmun. The approximate coordinates are 129.44, 127.19, floor 6. The easiest route is to take a boat to Ankrahmun, then head northwest toward the Blue Djinn Fortress.

DANGER

On the way to Jean Pierre, you may encounter Hyaenas, Larvas, 1 Stone Golem, and possibly Nomads, Honour Guards, Scarabs, and Scorpions. At level 35+, these should be manageable but stay alert.

SPEAK TO JEAN PIERRE

West of Blue Djinn Fortress

Jean Pierre is a male Djinn NPC who ONLY appears during August (August 1 through August 31). Outside of August, he is completely absent. When you find him, start the dialogue to become his apprentice.

CRITICAL: AUGUST ONLY

Jean Pierre vanishes on September 1st. If you have not finished all recipes by the end of August, you must wait until the following August to continue. Plan ahead and gather all ingredients before August begins so you can turn them in quickly.

FRESH DEAD BAT / FRESH DEAD CHICKEN

These corpses decay in 5 minutes. You must kill the creature, pick up the body, and deliver it to Jean Pierre before it rots. The Fresh Dead Bat can be obtained from Bats in Tiquanda near Port Hope. The Fresh Dead Chicken comes from killing a Chicken -- find one near Ankrahmun or parcel a freshly killed one from another character. You can also have a second character kill the creature and parcel it to your main character standing near Jean Pierre.

COCONUT MILK (9 VIALS TOTAL)

You need 9 Vials of Coconut Milk across all recipes (2 for Tropical Fried Terrorbird, 5 for Coconut Shrimp Bake, 2 for Zaoan Sauce). Obtain Coconuts by killing Sibangs in the Banuta/Port Hope area. Use a Juice Squeezer on each Coconut with an empty vial in your backpack. Farm extra Coconuts before August begins.

TROLL GREEN

Needed for both Hydra Tongue Salad and Filled Jalapeno Peppers (2 total). There are 12 respawn points in Dusalk's Troll Clan Cave (south of Thais). The herb spawns on the ground and can be picked up without fighting. Check all spawns and you should find enough quickly.

HERBS (POWDER, SLING, SHADOW)

Powder Herb: 3 respawns near Wyda in the swamp south of Thais. Sling Herb: 1 respawn near Wyda, 12 in Greenshore, 6 at the Thais farm. Shadow Herb:Respawns near Wyda, or loot from Spit Nettles and Carniphilas. Visit Wyda's area to collect all three herb types in one trip.

RICE BALLS

Required for Coconut Shrimp Bake. First, give 4 Tomes of Knowledge to NPC Cael in the Farmine Mines. Then you can exchange Bunches of Ripe Rice with NPC Swolt in Farmine for Rice Balls. You need 10 Rice Balls, so gather at least 10 Bunches of Ripe Rice. Tomes of Knowledge drop from various creatures in the Zao area.
